Miss Grand India Finalist 2025 Gitashree Visits Us: A Heartfelt Day with Mumbai’s Rescued Animals

On a bright and joyful morning, Miss Grand India 2025 finalist Gitashree graced Raksha Animal Welfare Organization with a visit that left everyone — humans and animals alike — filled with warmth and inspiration.

Passionate about animal welfare, Gitashree has chosen this cause as the core of her advocacy journey. During her visit, she spent time with our rescued dogs and cats, many of whom are recovering from trauma, abandonment, or injury. With gentle care and genuine affection, she walked through our rehabilitation wards, post-op areas, and open play zones — connecting instantly with the animals and our caregivers.

“Every life matters. And the unconditional love these animals offer is something we must protect,” said Gitashree, while holding a rescued Indie pup in her arms.

But this wasn’t her first step into the world of compassion. Gitashree has already led multiple food distribution drives for stray animals across Mumbai, raising awareness about their plight and encouraging citizens to step up for voiceless lives. Her hands-on approach, from feeding strays to promoting adoption and sterilization, has made her a true role model for youth looking to give back.

At Raksha, her presence was more than symbolic. She engaged with our team of vets, animal care assistants, and volunteers, appreciating the hard work that goes into every rescue, recovery, and adoption. She also took time to discuss long-term strategies to increase awareness and support for stray animals in India.

Gitashree’s visit reminded us that beauty truly shines brightest when paired with empathy. We are grateful for her support and look forward to working together on initiatives that improve the lives of animals in our cities.

Stay tuned for upcoming collaborations with Gitashree and Raksha — because change begins with compassion.
