Raksha Foundation Celebrates 3 Years of Compassion and Community Care in Mumbai

This month marks a significant milestone for all of us at Raksha Foundation—three incredible years of serving stray animals and underprivileged children across Mumbai. What began as a humble initiative driven by compassion has grown into a powerful movement for change, healing, and hope.


A Journey of Heart and Purpose

Over the past three years, Raksha Foundation has stayed true to its mission: to protect and uplift the most vulnerable lives in our city—whether four-legged or two. In streets, slums, and shelters, we’ve worked tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide relief to stray animals and underserved children.


Our journey has been filled with challenges, but even more so with victories—big and small. From the wag of a dog’s tail after a life-saving surgery to the smile of a child discovering the joy of learning, every moment has reminded us why Raksha exists.


Stray Animal Welfare: Every Life Matters

With countless rescues under our belt, Raksha has become a beacon of hope for Mumbai’s stray animals. We’ve treated cases of injury, abuse, and illness; conducted sterilization drives; found forever homes for many, and created a safe haven for those with nowhere else to go. Our kennels and the beloved IPD cats are now thriving, thanks to the love and care they receive daily.

We also take pride in our community outreach efforts, helping pet parents in low-income areas with vaccinations, awareness, and emergency support.


Empowering Underprivileged Children: Nurturing Minds and Spirits

But our mission doesn’t end with animal welfare. Over the past three years, Raksha has extended its care to underprivileged children, offering them access to education, nutrition, and creative learning. From organizing art and reading sessions to distributing books, school supplies, and meals, we’ve been sowing seeds of opportunity and self-belief.

Through our child engagement programs, we’ve seen shy faces turn into confident voices. We believe that every child deserves a chance to dream—and the tools to make those dreams a reality.
